About H. Clare Callow
I am a professional writer with over 15 years' experience in the industry. I have done everything from journalism to advertising copy to romance novels. I have physically picked up a first-generation iMac and made to throw it out of a second-storey window. I am a veteran coffee-drinker.
Over the years, I have had experience in writing on an oddly broad range of areas for an oddly broad range of clients. My clients have included companies and individuals, from major hotel and travel chains to technical magazines to families wanting their parents' life story written down. One of my major strengths as a writer is the ability to copy the tone of existing works, which is particularly valuable when working with businesses.
During my degree in communications (majoring in journalism) I hated PR and
marketing so much I took up the hobby of randomly choosing electives. I
ended up studying things like anthropology in East Asia and accidentally did
two postgraduate subjects as an undergrad. I have milked cows, served petrol, trekked through rainforests, composed legal reports, and done a whole range of improbable and random things. So when I promptly say, 'Yes, I know that topic,' to your request, it may sound strange, but I probably do. I do not know anything about gardening.
